SALT LAKE CITY - The Salt Lake Bees announced today that the club has recalled outfielder Coby Smith to triple-A Salt Lake from double-A Arkansas.
Smith, 27, hit .304 with five doubles, one home run and six RBI in 30 games for the Travelers in 2008. The Dothan, Ala. native appeared in nine games for the Bees in 2007, hitting .158 with four RBI. Smith was signed by the Angels as a free agent in January 2007.
The 25-6 Salt Lake Bees continue an eight-game home stand tonight against the Albuquerque Isotopes at 6:35 p.m. at Franklin Covey Field. For more information about Bees season tickets, which start as low as $7 per game, please call 325-BEES.
