Sidewinders Fall Short in 10-6 Loss to Nashville

Tucson, AZ - The Sidewinders fell again to the visiting Nashville Sounds 10-6 on Wednesday night. Arizona Diamondback Chad Tracy played in his second game for the Sidewinders while on a rehabilitation assignment and went.

Nashville got on the board early, scoring in each of the first four innings

The Sounds put up two in the first and another in the second, but Tucson answered back by tying the game with a Jamie D'Antona solo shot and an Evan MacLane two RBI double in the bottom of the second.

Nashville regained the lead when Adam Heether hit his second homer of the season making the score 4-3. Nashville added three more on in the fourth and tacked on another three in the seventh when Brendan Katin hit a 3-run jack over the green wall in center at Tucson Electric Park making extending the Sounds lead to 10-4.

The Sidewinders narrowed the gap in the eighth, getting two-runs from a Phil Avlas RBI single and a pinch hit RBI single by Tim Raines Jr. to cap the scoring 10-6.

The Sidewinders will face the Nashville Sounds in Tucson starting at 6:30 PM on Thursday night. RHP Esmerling Vasquez (0-0, 6.00) is scheduled to start for Tucson. Right-hander Richie Gardner (1-1, 5.40) will start for the Sounds. The game will air live on COOL 1450 beginning at 6:20 a.m.
