Iowa Cubs News Release
The Iowa Cubs defeated the Tacoma Rainiers 4-3 Tuesday night at Principal Park.
Micah Hoffpauir, who was activated from the disabled list today, gave the Cubs an early 1-0 lead with a sacrifice fly in the first inning.
Tacoma tied the game 1-1 in their half of the second inning, but Iowa answered back scoring a run in the third and two in the fourth to take a 4-1 lead. The Rainiers posted two runs in the eighth inning to close the gap, 4-3.
Josh Kroeger was 2-for-3 and drove in two runs in the win. Iowa's Randy Keisler (2-3) threw six innings, allowing just one run on six hits to pick up his second win of the season. R.A. Dickey (1-4) of Tacoma was tagged with the loss.
