LAST GAME: Oklahoma scored the game's final four runs and rallied to beat Sacramento 5-3. Doug Mathis struggled early but finished well, pitching eight solid innings while striking out six. Mathis retired the final 13 batters he faced before getting lifted for a reliever. The Rivers Cats held leads of 2-0 and 3-1 at most, but the RedHawks answered each time and plated two runs in the home half of the eighth to take the win. Kevin Richardson had three hits and was a triple shy of a cycle, and Kevin Mench and John Mayberry also drove in runs.

MATHIS LEADS THE PACK: Doug Mathis was the first pitcher in the PCL to win three games, and subsequently the first to win four. On his third attempt to win his fifth, the RedHawks right-hander also became the first in the league to win five games. Seven other pitchers, including Oklahoma's Elizardo Ramirez, are tied with four wins apiece.

ERA BUMP: The RedHawks jumped to second in the league in team ERA after yesterday's action. Oklahoma moved from fourth in the league with a 4.22 earned run average heading into Tuesday's series opener to second following the game with a 4.15 mark. Salt Lake is the only team in PCL with an ERA lower than 4.00. Comparatively speaking, the RedHawks ERA would rank 13th in the International League, where nine teams have an earned run average under 4.00.

METCALF RETURNS FOR REHAB: Travis Metcalf was added to the RedHawks roster today to start a Major League rehabilitation assignment. The Rangers infielder was placed on the disabled list retroactive to March 21 with a torn left hamstring and will make his first appearance of the season at any level when he takes the field for Oklahoma. Metcalf jumped from Double-A to the Major Leagues last season, and played 18 games for Oklahoma in August, hitting .148 with no home runs and six runs batted in. Metcalf had surgery in March to repair the damage, and at the time was expected to miss six to eight weeks.

SACRAMENTO AT A GLANCE: The River Cats had a two-game winning streak snapped with last night's loss... Jeff Baisley extended his hitting streak to four games with a single in the first inning... Tuesday's loss dropped Sacramento out of first place for the first time since April 21... The River Cats are looking for their 500th regular season victory this afternoon. Sacramento entered the year with 482 wins since moving from Vancouver in 2000.

AROUND THE ORGANIZATION: Texas beat Seattle 10-1. Sidney Ponson earned his second win since having his contract purchased by the Rangers... Frisco lost 5-4 to Midland... Bakersfield beat Modesto 8-5 on the road... Clinton beat South Bend 11-6.

DOT-DOT-DOT: RedHawk batters have walked just three times over that last three games and have fallen out of the PCL lead in the category, now trailing Portland by seven walks... Doug Mathis leads the PCL with 45.2 innings pitched... Oklahoma is hitting .303 with runners in scoring position this season and went 2-12 last night with runners at second or third... Kevin Richardson's home run last night was his third of the season, but first at AT&T Bricktown Ballpark... Kevin Mench extended his hitting streak to five games with a sixth inning single yesterday.

ON THE AIR: Every game this season can be heard on the RedHawks Radio Network, led by broadcaster Jim Byers for the ninth season, and joined by Adam Marco during each homestand. Fox Sports Radio AM 1340 in Oklahoma City will serve as the flagship station in 2008. The network affiliates this season are KSIW 1450 AM in Woodward, KXCA 1380 AM in Lawton, KPNS 1350 AM in Duncan, KTJS 1420 AM in Hobart, KGFF 1450 AM in Shawnee, and KWSH 1260 AM in Wewoka. Each game will also be broadcast on the internet through the audio link at www.oklahomaredhawks.com.
