Sliders Slip against Crushers

Midwest Sliders of Ypsilanti News Release


AVON, OH - Lake Erie goes up another game in the wild card standings as they beat the Midwest Sliders of Ypsilanti after a 10-3 victory at All Pro Stadium.

The Sliders scored early on to take a nice lead until Lake Erie came storming back. Zack Pace leadoff the game with a double and later scored on a Roberto Mena single.

Lee Rubin gave the Sliders a 3-1 lead when he hit a two-run bomb in the second inning.

The Crushers went on to score nine unanswered runs to finish the game. Jeff Fischer got the loss throwing five innings allowing five runs off ten hits.

Sunday the Sliders will look to even the four game series at two a piece. The game begins at 5:05 p.m. following the game Midwest will come home for a day off before starting up a series Tuesday with the Evansville Otters at EMU's Oestrike Stadium.
