
Sliders even out series with Wild Things

WASHINGTON, PA., July 27, 2009
The Midwest Sliders of Ypsilanti scored early and often on way to evening out their series with the Washington Wild Things.
Sam DeLuca hit a three-run bomb in the first inning to set the tone for the Sliders night. Michael Parker reached safely in his 22nd game in the first and later scored for Washington cutting the lead to 4-3.
The Wild Things home runs carried over from last nights game as they hit two more in the third. Ernie Banks hit his third of the season making it a one-run game.
Midwest took a decisive lead in the fourth scoring three runs, making it 8-4 Sliders.
Mike Penn improved his record to 6-4 on the season as he started, and received the win for the Sliders.
Tuesday nights rubber match will start at 7:05 p.m. at CONSOL Energy Park.
