Toronto Argonauts News Release

Mississauga - The Toronto Argonauts Football Club is busy building a winner on the gridiron and on the hard court. WR Todd Lowber, a college basketball player who first played football when he signed in the NFL following his senior year, has signed a practice roster agreement with the club.

Lowber and new teammate, CFL All-Star Byron Parker, have something in common. Both were college basketball stars and neither had any significant football experience before turning pro. While Parker did play one season of football for Tulane University, Lowber signed with the NFL's Minnesota Vikings right out of college - not having gained any collegiate football experience. A pure athlete, Lowber once cleared 7-feet while competing in high-jump at an NCAA track & field meet, and was a starter for two seasons with the Ramapo college basketball team in New Jersey. He spent all of last season on the New York Giants' practice roster where he earned a Super Bowl ring.
