Skyhawks Set Team Record for Made Threes in 115-112 Win over Nets

College Park, Ga. - The College Park Skyhawks (7-3) secured a home victory over the Long Island Nets (4-4), 115-112 on Monday. The Skyhawks set a team record for made three-pointers with 21 makes on 44 attempts in the win.

Tyson Etienne led the Skyhawks with a career-high 23 points on a career-best 6-11 3FG. Hawks two-way players Seth Lundy (16 points) and Miles Norris (14 points) combined for 30 points.

The Skyhawks started the game on an 11-3 run that extended to their biggest lead of the quarter at 28-12 with 5:48 left in the first, propelled by a barrage of three-pointers from Lundy (3-4 3FG), Norris (2-5 3FG), and Etienne (3-4 3FG) in the opening period. The Skyhawks' eight threes in the first quarter were their most since Nov. 4, 2022, against Long Island, and the second-most in any quarter in team history (nine, done twice).

The Skyhawks' accuracy from deep continued into the second quarter, led by Etienne, who poured in 18 points (5-7 3FG) in the first half and tied his career-high for made threes in a single game by halftime. The Skyhawks finished with 13 three-pointers converted in the first half (13-22 3FG, .591 3FG%) - a team record for makes in any half.

At the break, the Skyhawks had a first half season-high 65 points and led the Nets, 65-56.

The Nets stormed back in the second half to claim a 10-point lead at 104-94 with 5:39 left in the fourth quarter. Jalen Wilson poured in 23 points (8-14 FG, 6-9 3FG) in the second half, finishing with 32 points (11-20 FG, 9-13 3FG) on the night.

Jarkel Joiner entered the game in the fourth quarter and grabbed two steals to help the Skyhawks erase the deficit, and the 19-8 run was punctuated by a clutch three-pointer by Etienne to give the Skyhawks a 113-112 lead with 0:21 left.

The Nets were led by Wilson, while former Skyhawk Armoni Brooks, now a two-way player with the Brooklyn Nets, scored 21 points (6-9 FG, 5-8 3FG) off the bench.

The Skyhawks and Nets will reconvene in Long Island for a rematch on Wednesday night at 7 p.m. Wednesday's contest can be viewed on ESPN+.
