
Hornets Assign Nick Smith Jr. to Swarm

The Charlotte Hornets announced today rookie guard Nick Smith Jr. has been assigned to the Greensboro Swarm for his first NBA G League assignment.
Smith Jr. was selected in the first round (27th overall) of the 2023 NBA Draft on June 22. In six appearances between the California Classic and NBA 2K24 summer leagues, Smith Jr. averaged 14.3 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 3.2 assists per game. He has played eight regular-season contests for the Hornets, recording 4.0 points in 7.1 minutes per game.
Prior to the NBA, the 6'2 guard averaged 12.5 points, 1.7 rebounds and 1.7 assists in 25.8 minutes per game during the 2022-2023 season at the University of Arkansas. A consensus top-three high school recruit, Smith Jr. collected various accolades as a prep, including Arkansas Player of the Year honors and winning the state championship during his senior season.
Smith Jr. is expected to suit up with the Swarm for their school day match up against the Capital City Go-Go at Novant Health Fieldhouse on December 5 at 11 a.m.
