Sioux Falls Skyforce News Release

SIOUX FALLS, SD - The Sioux Falls Skyforce defeated the Idaho Stampede 116-112 on Friday night at the Sioux Falls Arena. The victory was the second straight over Idaho and third overall.

Sioux Falls led by as many as 15 points in the first quarter but Idaho fought back to cut the deficit to 53-52 at halftime. A Lance Allred lay-up in the opening minute of the second half gave Idaho their first lead of the game but Sioux Falls built another double-digit lead (81-68) thanks to sloppy play by the Stampede.

Idaho refused to fold and tied the game at 98 apiece with 5:40 to go in the contest. Sioux Falls had two separate five-point leads down the stretch but could not put the game out of reach and Donell Taylor made a 3-pointer with 32.1 seconds to tie the game at 112. Reggie Williams responded with a three-point play with 14.3 seconds remaining and Leemire Goldwire stripped the ball from Taylor before he could attempt another 3-pointer to tie the game. After being fouled, Goldwire missed the first free throw but made the second to ice the game and help Sioux Falls improve to 11-4 at home.

Williams scored a game-high 43 points for the third time season to lead Sioux Falls. David Bailey posted season-highs in points (29) and assists (12) and Raymond Sykes filled in nicely for the injured Alexander Johnson as he scored 20 points.

Taylor recorded his fourth double-double of the season with a season-high 31 points to go along with 10 rebounds. Newly acquired players Andre Barrett (19 points, seven assists) and Joe Dabbert (28 points, 12 rebounds) shined in only their second games with the Stampede.

Sioux Falls is back at home again tomorrow night against the Maine Red Claws with tipoff set for 7 p.m. CT. Idaho travels to Bismarck to take on Dakota tomorrow night at 7 p.m. CT.
