Sioux Falls Skyforce News Release
Sioux Falls, SD - The Iowa Energy defeated the Sioux Falls Skyforce 99-95 Friday night at the Sanford Pentagon. Sioux Falls trailed by just two points (86-84) following a Bill Walker 3-pointer with just over two minutes to go but Kalin Lucas answered with a dagger 3-pointer to help Iowa pick up the road win.
Sioux Falls jumped out to a quick 17-2 lead but Iowa battled back and trailed 24-23 after one quarter. Iowa (3-0) outscored Sioux Falls (2-1) 21-18 in the second quarter to take a 44-42 halftime lead. Ryan Evans had a big first half with 14 points and six rebounds.
Sioux Falls led 67-63 after the third quarter but Chris Allen scored 11 points behind three 3-pointers in the final quarter to help Iowa remain undefeated.
Lucas posted 22 points, six rebound and six assists. Patrick Christopher and Chris Allen both scored 19 points while Othyus Jeffers added 14.
Evans scored a game-high 29 points to go along with 12 rebounds. Justin Hamilton posted a double-double with 13 points and 15 rebounds while DeAndre Liggins contributed 15 points, six rebounds and 13 assists.
The same two teams will face each other again tomorrow night at the Sanford Pentagon at 7 p.m. CT.
