HIDALGO, Texas - The Tulsa 66ers fell to the Rio Grande Valley Vipers, 105-96, on Friday night inside Dodge Arena in Hidalgo, Texas.
Five 66ers scored 13 or more points, led by Ben Uzoh with 17 points, eight rebounds and five assists. Mario Little scored 16 alongside six boards and five assists and Isaiah Wilkerson posted 15 points, four rebounds and four assists off the bench.
Tulsa (0-3) trailed Rio Grande Valley (3-0) 37-17 early in the contest before outscoring the Vipers 24-12 to head into halftime down 49-41.
The 66ers continued to fight back, pulling within six points with just under two minutes remaining in the fourth, trailing 98-92. Rio Grande Valley closed the game on a 7-4 run to hold off Tulsa's comeback.
Tulsa grabbed a season-best 43 rebounds while forcing 25 Viper turnovers. Through three games, the 66ers are forcing an average of 23.3 turnovers per game.
Rio Grande Valley was led by Troy Daniels with 27 points and James Johnson with 24 points and 10 rebounds.
Tulsa has a quick turnaround as it takes on the Texas Legends on Saturday night in Frisco, Texas. The 66ers were 3-2 against the Legends last season.
