November 29, 2013 - NBA G League (G League)
Texas Legends News Release
FRISCO, TX, (Nov. 29, 2013) - CityHouse opened its doors in Plano, TX in 1988 to help at-risk youth stay off the streets. From six beds in a shelter to four houses, CityHouse has grown to a multi-service agency that aids over 500 North Texas youths and their families. The Texas Legends, presented by Veracruz (visit Veracruz.mx), have partnered with FCA to raise awareness for the organization and celebrate the members who live this message.
CityHouse will open two new homes in Frisco in 2014. The game on November 30 will benefit these new locations, both raising funds and awareness in the community.
"Youth homelessness is a reality that exists in Frisco and all areas of Collin County, even though it is difficult to spot," said Rob Scichili, City House director of communications. "We'd like to thank the Texas Legends for the opportunity to help raise awareness of this issue. City House has been around for 25 years, helping hundreds of at-risk and homeless kids in Collin County since 1988. We'd like to extend a special thank you to the Jan Richey Team with Keller Williams Realty for making City House Night with the Texas Legends possible."
The Legends will wear customized jerseys celebrating CityHouse, uniquely branded with both the Legends and Jan Richey Team logos. Select jerseys will be available via a silent auction during the game, with all proceeds going back to CityHouse-Frisco. As part of the festivities of the night, select individuals from CityHouse will be recognized as "Legends of the Night."
The Legends face the Oklahoma City Thunder affiliate at 7 pm on November 30. The game will be the first of the five-game series between the rival teams. Last season Tulsa took the advantage three games to two over the Legends. So far this season, the Legends are 2-0 led by Chris Douglas-Roberts averaging 21.5 points, 6 rebounds and 4.5 assists. Devin Ebanks has tallied a double-double in both games averaging 22.5 points and 11 rebounds. Tulsa will play the Rio Grande Valley Vipers tonight after going 0-2 in their opening homestand against Iowa.
The game will be broadcast on television - KTXD47 - and radio - KTNO 1440am and 102.5fm. For more information on the team or the full season schedule visit www.TexLegends.com.
