
Skyforce Earns Home Victory over Red Claws

Sioux Falls, S.D. - The Sioux Falls Skyforce defeated the Maine Red Claws 101-87 Saturday night in front of a season-high crowd of 5,912 fans at the Sioux Falls Arena. Sioux Falls led by as many as 23 points and never trailed as they snapped a three-game home skid.
Sioux Falls (8-5) jumped out to a quick 11-2 lead and led 30-23 after the first quarter behind 10 points from Demetris Nichols. Sioux Falls increased the lead to 13 points (43-30) in the second quarter before settling for a 50-38 halftime lead.
Maine (9-5) trailed by as many as 23 points in the third quarter (81-58) but scored seven straight points to cut the deficit to 81-65 after three quarters. Maine would get no closer than 12 points in the final quarter as Sioux Falls earned a weekend split.
Andrew Goudelock posted a game-high 24 points to go along with eight rebounds, four assists and four steals. Nichols scored 19 points while Hassan Whiteside added 12 points on 5-of-6 field goals.
DaJuan Summers posted his third straight double-double with 22 points and 10 rebounds. Xavier Silas tallied 14 points and eight assists while Boston Celtics assignee Fab Melo contributed 13 points, 10 rebounds and five blocks.
Maine returns home to host Springfield Monday at 1 p.m. ET. Sioux Falls visits league-leading Santa Cruz Tuesday at 4 p.m. CT.
