Sioux Falls Skyforce News Release

SIOUX FALLS, SD - Frank Williams recorded a game-high 26 points and pulled down seven rebounds Saturday night to lead the Skyforce to a 98-87 victory over the Austin Toros on Minnesota Timberwolves affiliate night.

Both teams battled back-and-forth in the first and ended the quarter tied 23-23. The Skyforce (24-22) took charge in the second quarter, outscoring the Toros 29-16 and finishing the first half up 52-39.

The Toros (27-15) never saw the lead again thanks in part to the defensive effort of the Skyforce. Austin shot just 40.8 percent from the field and 70 percent from the free throw line. Sioux Falls also recorded 15 steals for the second night in a row and forced 19 turnovers.

"I was worried that we were going to come out flat because I knew we were a little tired, but our guys competed," Skyforce head coach Nate Tibbetts said. "We've talked a lot about not worrying about the individual stuff and going out there to get some wins, and we definitely did that tonight."

Bobby Jones added 25 points to the effort and recorded a team-high nine rebounds. Kasib Powell added 18 points, eight rebounds and a team-high eight assists.

Leading the Toros was San Antonio Spurs assignee Malik Hairston with 23 points. Dwayne Jones recorded a double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds.

The Toros will play at Dakota on Monday at 7 p.m. CT. The Skyforce is off until Saturday, April 4 when they host the Idaho Stampede at 7 p.m. CT.
