
Skyforce Acquires Player Rights to Two Players and a Pick in Trade with Stockton

Sioux Falls, SD - The Sioux Falls Skyforce announced today that the team has acquired player rights to Wes Iwundu, Jerricole Hellems and a 2024 first round NBA G League draft pick (via the Mexico City Capitanes) in exchange for player rights to Stanley Johnson with the Stockton Kings.
Iwundu, a 6-6, 195-pound forward out of Kansas State was the third overall pick in the second round of the 2017 NBA Draft by the Orlando Magic. He played parts of five NBA seasons and averaged 4.4 points on 40.8 percent shooting, 2.5 rebounds and 0.9 assists per 16.9 minutes in 226 career games (51 starts) for the Magic, Dallas Mavericks, New Orleans Pelicans and Atlanta Hawks. Iwundu has appeared in 53 NBA G League games (47 starts) for the Lakeland Magic, Cleveland Charge and Stockton Kings and averaged 10.5 points on 44.0 percent shooting, 5.4 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.0 steal per 28.0 minutes a game in three seasons. Prior to his professional career at Kansas State, he played in 132 collegiate games (123 starts) and averaged 9.5 points on 46.3 percent shooting, 4.7 rebounds and 2.8 assists per 28.2 minutes a game and was named to the Big 12 All-Defensive Team (2016) and All-Big 12 Third Team (2016, 2017).
Hellems, a 6-7, 205-pound forward out of North Carolina State went undrafted in the 2022 NBA Draft. He was selected with the fifth pick of the 2022 NBA G League Draft by the Oklahoma City Blue. Before his professional career, Hellems averaged 10.0 points on 40.8 percent shooting, 3.8 rebounds and 1.2 assists per 25.5 minutes a game in 124 appearances (73 starts) from 2018-22 at North Carolina State. After spending 2022 training camp with the OKC Blue, Hellems appeared in 12 games for the Stockton Kings, where he averaged 2.0 points, 1.2 rebounds and 0.7 assists per 6.4 minutes a game.
