The Sioux Falls Skyforce wraps up their final home game of the 2023 Showcase Cup tonight against the Grand Rapids Gold.
After winning three of four games, the Skyforce dropped a 142-105 contest to the Indiana Mad Ants on Tuesday night. Five players scored in double figures for Sioux Falls, as Caleb Daniels led off the bench with 20 points. Justin Champagnie chipped in 19 points and nine rebounds, while Brandon McCoy produced 18 points.
The Force currently has a five-game winning streak over the Gold, which dates back to November of the 2021-22 season. A victory tonight would mark two-straight campaigns of sweeping the season series against Grand Rapids.
Despite losing their first six games, the Gold was able to defeat the Windy City Bulls on Dec. 2 134-103 behind 26 points from Andrew Funk. Nuggets assignee Hunter Tyson has led the team in scoring four times this season, with the latter being 24 points on Dec. 3 against the Bulls.
Champagnie and HEAT two-way player Jamal Cain combined for 56 points on 20-38 FGA and 22 rebounds in a 100-94 victory in both team's last contest on Nov. 16. Denver two-way player Jay Huff led the Gold with 28 points on 10-15 FGA and 14 rebounds.
Sioux Falls wraps up the Showcase Cup portion of the season next Tuesday at Motor City and Windy City on Friday, before heading to Orlando for the 2023 NBA G League Winter Showcase.
