HENDERSON, Nev. - NBA G League Ignite (2-8) earned its second consecutive victory after defeating the Stockton Kings (4-6), 103-91, at The Dollar Loan Center in Henderson, Nev.
Ron Holland and John Jenkins led the way for Ignite after finishing with 21 points each. Holland added eight rebounds, three assists and three steals, while Jenkins grabbed seven rebounds. Tyler Smith recorded his first double-double of the season with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Matas Buzelis tallied 12 points and six rebounds, while Thierry Darlan and London Johnson added 11 points each.
Chance Comanche and Jalen Slawson each finished with a team-high 16 points. Comanche added six rebounds, while Slawson contributed five rebounds, three steals and two assists. Skal Labissiere had a final stat line of 15 points and five blocks on 7-of-12 shooting from the field.
In a tightly contested matchup for most of the first quarter, the Kings used a 13-0 run late in the fame to take an 11-point lead after trailing by two points. The Kings shot 50 percent from the field to take a nine-point advantage into the second quarter. Ignite opened the second period with four straight three-point plays, including two impressive and-one baskets by Thierry Darlan. The Kings weathered the storm and took its largest lead of the game, 14. Jalen Slawson poured in 12 of his 16 points in the second period to help the Kings take a 60-49 lead at the halfway mark. In a back-and-forth battle in the third quarter, Ignite reclaimed the lead late in the frame for the first time since the 4:32 (18-16) mark in the opening quarter. With under seven minutes remaining in regulation and the score tied at 86-86, the arena erupted after three thunderous dunks en route to a 17-5 run as Ignite pulled away to seal the victory.
