Skyforce Acquires NBA Development League Veteran

Sioux Falls, S.D.an. 5, 2011) - The Sioux Falls Skyforce announced today that the team has acquired forward Kevin Lyde from the available player pool. The team also announced that guard Chris McCray has been waived due to injury and guard Leemire Goldwire has left the team. The active roster now stands at nine players.

Lyde holds NBA Development League career averages of 10.3 points and 6.6 rebounds in 195 games (174 starts) with the Greenville Groove (47), Columbus Riverdragons (46), Fayetteville Patriots (13) and Dakota Wizards (89). He is the sixth-leading rebounder (1,279) and third-leading shot blocker (289) in NBA D-League history and was named All-NBA D-League Honorable Mention in 2006-07. The 6-10, 260-pound forward averaged 5.5 points and 6.0 rebounds in two postseason contests to help lead Dakota to the 2007 NBA D-League Championship. He also participated in training camp with the Denver Nuggets in the fall of 2003 and the Utah Jazz in the fall of 2007 and 2008.

The Skyforce's next game is on Friday, Jan. 7 on the road against the Erie BayHawks. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m. CT at Tullio Arena.
