BIRMINGHAM, AL – The Birmingham Barons are proud to host the 6th annual SkyFest Pyrotechnic Extravaganza on Saturday, August 16th at the Hoover Metropolitan Stadium. Don't miss one of the greatest annual fireworks display in the Southeast as the festivities blast off right after the Barons host the Chattanooga Lookouts in Western Division action with the game time set for 7:00 PM.

Last year's amazing SkyFest show was seen by more than 11,000 onlookers and over the past five years more than 56,000 people have witnessed this one-of-a-kind production.

The Sixth Annual SkyFest Show is a multi-media event incorporating fireworks, special effects pyrotechnics, music and video presentations. This year's SkyFest is entitled "Shining Stars" and is dedicated to our children, the future leaders of tomorrow and shining stars of today. It will feature thousands of brilliantly colored fireworks all dancing in perfect synchronization to a custom soundtrack. The show is completely computer choreographed and fired using a pyrodigital firing system and will take over 20 trained pyrotechnicians two days to set-up.

SkyFest is more than just a fireworks show it's also an award winning production, sure to delight fans of all ages. In 2001, SkyFest was recognized by the Southeast Tourism Society as one of top 20 events in the Southeast, encompassing Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia.
