Frasor locks down 4-3 win

GREENVILLE, S.C. – Suns closer Jason Frasor finished the final two innings, holding a one-run margin in a 4-3 victory over the Greenville Braves in front of 2,013 fans at Municipal Stadium.

In the top of the eighth inning, Jason Repko scored on Willie Collazo's wild pitch, breaking a 3-3 tie. Collazo (5-2) was dealt the loss allowing the unearned run one night after being the victor.

Repko, batting in the leadoff spot for Shane Victorino who missed the game because of hamstring tendonitis, had three hits and scored three runs. With the bases loaded in the first inning, Repko tagged from third on Brennan King's shallow fly to center, giving the Suns a 1-0 lead.

Tarrik Brock led off the fourth inning with a home run off the scoreboard in right center, giving the Suns a 2-0 advantage. It was Brock's 10th homer of the season. Repko scored on Nick Theodorou's sacrifice fly in the fifth inning, posting a 3-0 lead.

The Braves (55-61 overall, 19-29 second half) scored three times in the fifth inning off Suns starter Edwin Jackson. Richard Lewis scored on a passed ball with the bases loaded and then Charles Thomas hit a two-run single past shortstop to tie the game, 3-3.

Jackson (7-6) earned the victory, striking out a career-high-tying nine batters, allowing four hits and two runs over seven innings for the Suns (56-63, 25-25). Frasor earned his 11th save in as many opportunities.

Right-hander Will McCrotty (1-5, 4.33 ERA) is scheduled to face West Tenn Diamond Jaxx lefty Felix Sanchez (1-1, 3.13) at 7:05 p.m. Tuesday at the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville. It's the first of 12 games, beginning the final homestand of the regular season for the Suns.
