On Wednesday, the New York Liberty (1-1) fell to the Chicago Sky (1-1), 83-50, in the first game of their 2022 four-game season series.
At Wintrust Arena, the Liberty finished on 33.3% (20-60) shooting from the field, 13.3% (2-15) from three, and 88.9% (8-9) at the free throw line.
In the loss, the Liberty pulled down a season-high 31 rebounds.

One Liberty player scored in double figures in tonight's game (Han).
In her season debut, Han Xu came off the bench and dropped a team-high 10 points on 75% (3-4) shooting and in just nine minutes of play. She also drained her only attempt from beyond the three-point arc.
With her layup with 8:44 remaining in the final period, Betnijah Laney became the 184th player in WNBA history to record at least 500 career made field goals. In her season debut, Laney finished with eight points, a team-high six assists, and four rebounds.
In her return to Chicago, Stefanie Dolson tied for the team-high in rebounds with Sabrina Ionescu who also tallied six boards in the contest.
