Beloit Sky Carp News Release

APPLETON, WI - After four days off for the All-Star Break, Beloit defeated Wisconsin 10-9 in a game that featured nearly four days' worth of action on Friday night at Neuroscience Group Field.

The victory snaps the Sky Carp's six game losing streak and brings the team to 40-47 on the year.

After letting up an unearned run in the bottom of the first inning, Beloit responded by scoring three runs in the top of the second, including a two-RBI go-ahead double by Marcus Chiu.

In the third, Beloit made it 4-1 thanks to a sac-fly from Dalvy Rosario, his second of the game.

Wisconsin got a run back after Wes Clarke ripped an RBI double off Jackson Rose in the fourth - marking the only earned run Rose allowed in his five innings of work.

Beloit appeared to bust the game open with a four run fifth inning, highlighted by a 3-run homer from Rosario, which pushed the deficit to 8-2. The lead swelled to 9-2 after Davis Bradshaw drove in a run on a ground out in the top of the sixth.

However, the Timber Rattlers quickly showed the game was far from over.

Chris Mokma came on in relief of Jackson Rose to start the bottom of the sixth and struggled, allowing a parade of six hits, resulting in six earned runs to narrow the lead down to 9-8.

After a scoreless seventh inning, Rosario came through with an RBI single in the eighth, his sixth run driven in of the night, to push the lead back to two.

The insurance was quickly erased, however, as Chandler Jozwiak allowed a run to score on a wild pitch in the bottom of the inning.

The 10-9 score held going into the bottom of the ninth and Jozwiak stayed in to finish the ballgame. After allowing a one out single, the lefty induced a comebacker to the mound and Beloit's infield turned a 1-6-3 double play to slam the door on the roller-coaster affair.

The three-game series will resume on Saturday night at 6:40. Fans can tune in for free using the Big Radio app.
