Great Lakes Loons News Release
MIDLAND, Mich. - The Great Lakes Loons returned home victorious from a 5-1 series victory over the West Michigan Whitecaps, anxious to start a new series against the newly christened Beloit Sky Carp on a school kids' day Tuesday morning at Dow Diamond. Over 3,500 people were anticipated to be in attendance. However, the skies opened up and prevented the game from ever starting.
To make up the contest, the Loons and Sky Carp will play a doubleheader Thursday at Dow Diamond. Game one will begin at 5:05 p.m., and game two will commence approximately half an hour after the conclusion of the first game. Each contest will be seven innings.
School groups in attendance will be contacted by a Loons ticket representative with options. General public tickets for Tuesday's game can be exchanged for any remaining 2022 regular season home game over the phone or at the Dow Diamond box office. Tickets for Thursday are good for both games.
The series will begin Wednesday, and the two teams will start the same pitchers as were scheduled for Tuesday. Right-hander M.D. Johnson (0-3, 3.60 ERA) will take the hill for Beloit, while the Loons have slotted fellow righty Nick Nastrini (0-0, 4.15 ERA). First pitch is scheduled for 6:05 p.m., with pregame coverage beginning on ESPN 100.9-FM at 5:50 p.m. with the Loons On-Deck Circle, driven by Garber Chevrolet Midland. At Dow Diamond, it's Paws and Claws night - enjoy 50% off White Claws all night long, and bring your dog to the ballpark. Tickets are still available on loons.com
The Great Lakes Loons have been a Single-A partner of the Los Angeles Dodgers since the team's inception in 2007. Dow Diamond serves as the team's home and also houses the Michigan Baseball Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit public charity, and ESPN 100.9-FM.
