
Skole Goes Deep Twice, Suns Shutout RiverDogs 6-0

Charleston, SC - The Hagerstown Suns (67-48/25-21) earned their sixth shutout victory of the season, beating the Charleston RiverDogs (60-53/21-25), 6-0, at Joseph P. Riley Park on Wednesday night.
Matt Skole clubbed a pair of solo home runs in the game and finished the night with three hits and three RBIs to pace the Suns offense. Skole's league leading total of homers now sits at 27 while ranking second with 90 RBIs. Shortstop Bryce Ortega went 2-for-5 with two hits and two RBIs.
Starter Taylor Hill (10-6) earned the win with six shutout innings on the mound, allowing eight hits and two walks with one strike out. Richie Mirowski (2.0 IP) and L.J. Hollins (1.0 IP) combined to maintain the shutout and finish the game in relief.
RiverDogs' starting pitcher Philip Wetherell (5-6) suffered the loss after allowing three runs on five hits over 4.1 innings of work.
The Suns and RiverDogs will play game two of the series on Thursday evening at 7:05 p.m. when the Suns will have RHP Blake Schwartz on the mound against the RiverDogs RHP Corey Black.
