HICKORY, NC - With a towering two-run home run in the bottom of the ninth, C Kellin Deglan belted the Hickory Crawdads to the 6-5 walk-off win against the Asheville Tourists, before 784 fans at L.P. Frans Stadium on Wednesday night. It marks the eighth walk-off victory this season for Hickory, their most since before the 2005 season.

It was the Tourists (25-21, 72-44) that shot ahead first with three runs in the top of the first inning against LHP Will Lamb. 2B Taylor Featherston singled to right-center field with two outs, followed by a two-run homer over the center field wall by 1B Harold Riggins. The next batter, DH Jordan Ribera, hit a solo shot to right-center field and Asheville moved ahead, 3-0.

The Crawdads (25-21, 61-54) matched the Tourists with three runs in the bottom of the fourth inning against RHP Ben Alsup. SS Luis Sardinas led off with a single to right field and advanced to second on a 2B Rougned Odor base hit to left. CF Zach Cone lifted a deep double off the right field wall, scoring Sardinas and moving Odor to third. 3B Drew Robinson then ripped an RBI single to right field, plating Odor and advancing Cone to third. DH Trever Adams provided the game-tying run with an RBI fielder's choice, enabling Cone to come in for the 3-3 tie.

After Riggins struck with a go-ahead solo shot in the top of the sixth, the Crawdads answered right away in the bottom of the inning. Cone led off the home half of the sixth with a round-tripper of his own, tying the score once again, 4-4.

The Tourists reclaimed a one-run advantage in the top of the seventh inning. CF Brian Humphries led off with a single and advanced to third on a double to right-center field by SS Trevor Story. Featherston then drove an RBI sacrifice fly to retake the lead, 5-4, for the Tourists.

The Crawdads weren't done, however, and struck against RHP Will Rankin (L, 0-1) in the bottom of the ninth. Robinson led off the inning with a single to right field, getting the game-tying run on base. One out later, Deglan ended the ball game with one big swing, shooting a walk-off, two-run bomb over the right field wall and lifting Hickory to the 6-5 victory.

RHP Jose Monegro (W, 2-0) earned the win for Hickory with a scoreless inning of work in the top of the ninth.
