Skid Hits Six In West Virginia

Despite taking a lead in the top of the 7th inning, the Crosscutters saw their losing streak extend to six games with a 7-5 loss at West Virginia.

Rafael Marchan collected his first three-hit game of the season, finishing 3 for 4 with a three singles and a walk. Jonathan Guzman collected a pair of base hits, finishing 2 for 5 and Brayan Gonzalez finished the night 2 for 4 with a pair of RBI.

Randy Alcantara suffered his first loss of the season, allowing his first two walks and first two runs in the process. Jhordany Mezquita allowed four runs on eight hits over five innings, striking out five in the start.

The Crosscutters had a runner advance into scoring position in 8 of the 9 innings. They stranded at least one runner in every inning, stranding 12 runners in total and finished the night 1 for 17 with runners in scoring position.

Its the Cutters longest losing streak since August of 2017, losing six games from August 6th through the 12th , including getting swept in a doubleheader.
