(ROUND ROCK, Texas) - The Sugar Land Skeeters collected a season-high seven doubles in an 11-1 win over the Round Rock Express on Sunday night at Dell Diamond.
A four-run first inning and five-run seventh inning propelled the Skeeters to the lopsided win in a game that's start was delayed for just over two hours.
Bryan De La Cruz drove in a season-high four runs a night after his two home runs helped lead the Skeeters to a victory. Alex De Goti and Jake Meyers doubled twice in the win. De Goti, Meyers, Ronnie Dawson, Colton Shaver and CJ Hinojosa each drove in a run.
A trio of right-handers made MLB Rehab Assignment appearances, beginning with Joe Smith, who started the contest with a scoreless inning and two strikeouts. Austin Pruitt and Josh James followed with scoreless innings of their own. It was the first MLB Rehab appearance for James with the Skeeters.
Right-hander Brett Conine allowed just one run on four hits over the final five innings of the game to pick up his first save of the year. Pruitt received the winning decision.
Round Rock starter Tyler Phillips took the loss after allowing four runs (three earned) on four hits through 2 1/3 innings.
The Skeeters stole three bases in the win, including one for Jose Siri, who is tied for the Triple A West lead with 14 stolen bases.
