Tucson Padres News Release
Sunday night's game at Kino Stadium was tied 1-1 at the end of five innings, yet finished with an 11-6 score in favor of Sacramento. The River Cats scored a season high nine runs in the sixth inning against Samuel Deduno and Will Inman. The strange inning only included four hits and saw the Padres pitchers walk three batters and hit three more.
Pedro Feliz broke out of an 0-for-22 slump by going 3-for-5 with a three-run home run in the ninth, his second longball with Tucson. Steve Tolleson also had three hits for the Padres in the loss. The River Cats have won the first two games of the series and now have a magic number of three after Fresno beat Las Vegas Sunday.
Graham Godfrey pitched six innings and allowed two runs in his second win against the Padres this season. Sacramento's Joey Devine had to leave his relief appearance after 17 pitches with an injury. The Padres had 12 hits in the loss, compared to Sacramento's 11.
Next Game: Monday, 7:00 pm - Sacramento LHP Josh Outman (7-3, 4.05) vs. Tucson RHP Jon Leicester (5-7, 6.52). KiiM-FM Family Night - four tickets, four hot dogs, four sodas for only $20. Also, Margarita Monday, 2-for-1 Margarita special starting when the gates open at 6:00 pm.
