Sixteen Capitols to Compete in NCAA Tournament

The Capitols are proud to have sixteen different alumni playing in the 2024 NCAA Men's Ice Hockey Tournament this spring. This number tops the thirteen players that the organization had in the 2023 tournament.

Madison is represented on nine of the sixteen teams competing for the national championship. Wisconsin leads the way with five former Capitols on their roster with Maine, Michigan Tech, and Quinnipiac each having two former Caps.

The regionals for the tournament will be held from Thursday through Sunday with the winners advancing to the 2024 Frozen Four. The Frozen Four is set to be held in St. Paul, Minnesota, on April 11th and 13th.

Cornell - Nick DeSantis

Denver - Miko Matikka

Maine - Brandon Chabrier, Reid Pabich

Massachusetts - Jack Musa

Michigan Tech - Kyle Kukkonen, Trevor Kukkonen

Minnesota - Luke Mittelstadt

Omaha - Simon Latkoczy

Quinnipiac - Matthew McGroarty, Nick Wallace

Wisconsin - Carson Bantle, Ben Dexheimer, Quinn Finley, Jack Horbach, Michael Vorlicky

The current version of the Capitols are on the brink of heading to the playoffs for the second time in three seasons heading into play this weekend. If Madison were to sweep the three-game weekend, the team will clinch a playoff berth.

Madison returns home on April 5th and 6th to face off against the USNTDP's U17 team. On the 5th, it's another Dollar Beer Night presented by Coors Light. Tickets are still available for both games at tickets.madcapshockey.com.
