Schaumburg Boomers News Release
WASHINGTON, PA - The Schaumburg Boomers, presented by Wintrust Community Banks, scored six runs in the top of the fourth inning to erase a 5-1 deficit and rally to a 7-6 decision over the Washington Wild Things in Pennsylvania on Saturday night.
Jack Parenty led off the game with a double and scored an unearned run as the Boomers jumped ahead early. Washington scored four runs in the second inning and added another in the third to lead 5-1 before five straight singles chased Washington's starter in the fourth. Quincy Nieporte, Connor Oliver and Nick Oddo singled to load the bases. Jimmy Galusky logged a two-run single to pull the Boomers within 5-3 and Dylan Jones drove home Oddo to make the score 5-4. Parenty singled home a pair to give the Boomers the lead and Nieporte added a sacrifice fly in the frame.
Connor Reed grabbed the win, working five innings. Erik Martinez tossed two frames, Dylan Stutsman twirled the eighth, and Connor Eller nailed down his seventh straight save to add to his league leading total with his 16th of the year. Parenty finished with three hits out of the leadoff slot.
The Boomers (35-29) aim for a sweep on Sunday afternoon at 4:35 p.m. with RHP Payton Lobdell (2-4, 3.38) on the mound against LHP Nick Wegmann (3-5, 3.58).
