Washington Wild Things News Release
WASHINGTON, Pa. - After having a 5-1 lead in the third inning of the middle game against the Boomers, the Wild Things' bats went silent and Schaumburg came back to win 7-6 after a six-run fourth inning, to clinch a series win.
Schaumburg started the scoring in the first with a run before Washington responded by scoring four in the second inning, with RBI from Cody Erickson, Brett Marr and JR Davis. Washington scored again in the third when Alex Murphy doubled home Hector Roa.
The Boomers started the fourth with five-consecutive singles to chase Nick Gallagher, who took his first professional loss in the game. When all was said and done in the frame, Schaumburg scored six runs on six hits and was aided by one Washington error.
Cameron Baranek doubled home a run in the sixth inning to pull Washington within a run, but the Wild Things then went on to have the next 10 batters retired to end the game.
Schaumburg will look for the sweep tomorrow against the Wild Things. The two go at it at 5:35 p.m. in Washington in the finale of the homestand.
