
Sipotz Recalled By Chicago

The Gwinnett Gladiators announced today that defenseman Brian Sipotz has been recalled by the Chicago Wolves of the American Hockey League. Sipotz went scoreless in three games with the Gladiators and turned in a -4 plus-minus rating.
Prior to being assigned to the Gladiators on December 28th, the South Bend, Indiana native appeared in 10 games with Wolves this season, notching two assists and 18 penalty minutes. Sipotz last appeared in the ECHL in two games with Gwinnett during the 2004-05 season.
In 335 AHL games with the Wolves, Sipotz has recorded nine goals, 39 assists and 184 penalty minutes from 2004-2009. Prior to making his pro debut with Chicago, Sipotz skated four collegiate seasons with Miami University (Ohio), recording five assists and 139 penalty minutes.
The Gladiators continue their 7th season in the ECHL on Friday, January 8th vs. South Carolina at 7:35 p.m. The Gladiators are the AA affiliate of the Atlanta Thrashers and Columbus Blue Jackets and play all home games at the 11,355-seat Arena at Gwinnett Center, located just off I-85 on Sugarloaf Parkway in Duluth.
