Florida Everblades News Release
The Florida Everblades first half of their season-high 11-game road trip started off well. The 'Blades blew through the South Division with two wins over Gwinnett and one over Charlotte, while dropping decisions in overtime to the Gladiators and in regulation to the Stingrays.
The 'Blades take to the road once again on Wednesday as they travel up North to Elmira, New York, Reading, Pennsylvania and Trenton, New Jersey. Florida will battle Elmira, Reading and Trenton each twice in their buildings before returning home January 22.

GAME NOTES: The 'Blades started the week with a solid team win against the Gwinnett Gladiators. Goaltender Mike Morrison was a penalty shot away from posting his second straight shutout. Bryan Leitch in his first game with Florida fired in two tallies, while Kevin Baker (1g, 1a), Ross Carlson (2a) and Ernie Hartlieb (2a) all posted multiple-point efforts.
Thursday, December 31 @ South Carolina, North Charleston Arena, 7:05PM
GAME NOTES: The South Carolina Stingrays exploded for four goals in the third period to top the Everblades 4-1 on New Year's Eve. It was the Stingrays third straight win over the Everblades...Florida is now 1-3-0 against South Carolina this season. Paul Healey scored the lone Everblades goal.
Saturday, January 2 @ Gwinnett, The Arena at Gwinnett Center, 7:05PM
GAME NOTES: The Florida Everblades rebounded after a tough loss in South Carolina on New Year's eve with a 5-4 shootout victory in Gwinnett. The Everblades played the Gladiators solid in their building posting a 2-0-1 mark over the last week. Paul Healey added a goal and an assist and was the lone scorer in the shootout for Florida. Mike Morrison stopped five of five shooters in the shootout to post his ninth win of the season.

GAME NOTES: This game marks the first of two meetings between the Everblades and Jackals this season. Both games will be played in First Arena in Elmira, New York. These two clubs have met just once before last season with the Everblades claiming victory 7-2 in Elmira.
Saturday, January 9 @ Elmira, First Arena, 7:35PM
GAME NOTES: The second of a scheduled two meetings this season back-to-back in Elmira. In the Everblades lone visit here last season, 20101 ECHL All Star starter Jacob Micflikier scored two goals and four points in the 7-2 Florida victory. AHL All Star and former Everblade Anton Khudobin stopped 16 of 18 shots to post the win in net.
Sunday, January 10 @ Reading, Sovereign Center, 5:05PM
GAME NOTES: This is the first of two scheduled visits to Reading, PA. The Everblades and Royals will finish off their five-game season series the following Wednesday in the Sovereign Center in Reading. The Everblades have posted a 1-2-0 mark against Reading this season with all three prior meetings taking place in Germain Arena.

Mike Morrison led the Everblades to two victories in three tries on the road this week. Morrison stopped 38 of 39 shots versus Gwinnett on Tuesday in the Everblades 4-1 win. Morrison and the Everblades dropped a tough decision in South Carolina on New Year's Eve 4-1. The Medford, MA native rebounded on Saturday night with a 25-save performance in a 5-4 shootout victory.

Veteran forward Paul Healey appeared in two games for Florida this week and scored in both games. Healey scored the lone goal for Florida on New Year's Eve in South Carolina. He followed that up with a goal and an assist including the only goal of five Everblades shooters in the shootout in Florida's 5-4 win over Gwinnett last Saturday.
