Sioux City Takes Game Three, DockHounds Win Series

SIOUX CITY, IA - The Sioux City Explorers took the third of a three-game series Thursday evening at Lewis and Clark Park, winning 10-6 against the Lake Country DockHounds.

The first score of the game came in the top of the fourth inning when Lake Country's TJ Bennett hit a solo home run.

In the bottom of the fourth, Mitch Ghelfi doubled to left, driving in two runs for Sioux City. The score was 2-1.

In the 5th, Connor Bagnieski advanced to second on an error by the X's first baseman. Lamar Briggs scored the unearned run to tie it 2-2.

The next half inning, Gabe Snyder drove in Chase Harris off a sacrifice fly to center field. Sebastian Zawada then singled to center, driving in another.

In the bottom of the eighth inning, the Explorers put up 5 runs, blowing the game wide open. Multiple errors in the infield by Lake Country benefited the X's. Zawada headlined the inning with a 2 RBI triple.

LC loaded the bases in the top of the ninth, and drove in three runs. The DockHounds couldn't rally back, as they lost 10-6.

Evan Kruczynski took the loss, while Kevin McCanna was credited the win for 6 and one-third innings of work.

The DockHounds will host their home opener tomorrow at Wisconsin Brewing Company Park. They will host the Winnipeg Goldeyes. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 p.m., and you can catch the game live on AAbaseball.tv.
