PEARL, MS -- As previously announced, Mississippi Braves RHP Shae Simmons has been promoted directly to the Atlanta Braves from Double-A Mississippi. No corresponding move has been announced.
The right-hander was leading the Southern League with 14 saves on the season. Simmons had a 0.78 ERA in 20 outings for the M-Braves. In those 20 appearances, he gave up runs in just one outing. After giving up those two runs on April 28, Simmons went on to record nine consecutive saves. He struck out 30 batters in 23 total innings pitched.
The Mississippi roster has 24 active players and 4 disabled.
