Edmonton Oil Kings News Release
Edmonton, AB - There may be less than a week to go in the Western Hockey League's regular season but the Edmonton Oil Kings aren't showing any signs of slowing down when it comes to serving their community.
The Oil Kings revived their Silver Sunday tradition this season and collected donations from their fans at every Sunday home game to raise funds for the E4C Hot Lunch Program at Edmonton Public Schools. Fans generously donated over $1300 dollars in loose change in just 7 home games.
Money raised will help pay for over 600 meals at 4 schools in the E4C Program. Members of the Oil Kings will help serve some of those meals on the morning of Tuesday March 11, 2008 at J.A. McDougall School (11:25 a.m.), Norwood School (11:30 a.m.) and St. Francis School (11:25 a.m.).
