Sidorov Scores Again, Blades Fall Short vs Warriors
October 25, 2023 - Western Hockey League (WHL)
Saskatoon Blades News Release
THE STREAK ENDS: Forward Egor Sidorov was the Saskatoon Blades' lone goal scorer as they fell 3-1 to the Moose Jaw Warriors Tuesday at the Sasktel Centre.
The Anaheim Ducks draft pick netted his eighth goal of the year, giving him goals in five straight and a point in all nine games this season. The 6-foot sniper now boasts eight goal and 13 points.
Sophomore goalie Austin Elliot had a solid outing between the pipes stopping 24-of-26 shots. Nobody expected the Strathmore, AB prospect to be undefeated throughout the remainder of the season, but the scoreboard wasn't reflective of another impressive performance. Elliott's record sits at 6-1-0-0 with a .933 save-percentage and 1.54 goals-against-average.
The Blades six-game win streak comes to an end, falling to 8-3-0-0 on the season, remaining a single point ahead of the Prince Albert Raiders for top in the Eastern Conference.
NEXT GAME: The Blades travel to the Brandt Centre Friday for their third meeting of the season against the Regina Pats.
Puck drop is 7:00pm.
