ARIZONA/ODESSA RE-MATCH TONIGHT

The Sundogs and the Jackalopes will meet for the fourth time this season on Friday night in Odessa. On Thursday night, the Sundogs got two goals and an assist from Mark Kolanos and defeated the Jacks 5-3. Alex Leavitt added three assists for Arizona who has won four straight games and increased their Southwest Division lead to three points. Goaltender Andrew Gallant earned the win with 26 saves and is 2-0 versus Odessa. The Jackalopes could turn to rookie goaltender Alexandre Vincent for a spark; he is 3-0 with a 1.33 GAA this season.

MUDBUGS LOOK TO EXTEND WIN STREAK AND RECORD

The Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs will look to extend their four-game winning streak on Saturday night in Mississippi versus the RiverKings. The Mudbugs have touched the CHL record books this week with their third consecutive shutout on Tuesday night versus Mississippi. Their third straight shutout ties a CHL record accomplished twice (Odessa in 2002-03 and Tulsa 2001-02) and their current scoreless minute streak of 192:29 breaks the previous CHL record set by Tulsa in 2001-02 of 192:27. 'Bugs goaltender John DeCaro has not allowed a goal in his last 132:29 which could reach record status with another solid performance. Bossier-Shreveport's other goaltender Ken Carroll shutout Austin last Saturday earning the veteran his CHL record-tying 22nd CHL shutout (shared with Rod Branch).

CHL Consecutive Scoreless Minute Record 192:29 - Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs (2007-08) - - - streak is still active 192:27 - Tulsa Oilers (2001-02) 184:45 - Odessa Jackalopes (2002-03) 171:09 - Laredo Bucks (2007-08)

CHL Individual Scoreless Minute Record 222:01 - Shawn Silver, Indianapolis (2002-03) 191:87 - Rod Branch, Tulsa (2001-02) 184:45 - Mike Gorman, Odessa (2002-03) (John DeCaro's active streak is currently at 132:29)

SNOW REPORT - BUCKS CLIMB A MILE-HIGH

The Southern Conference leading Laredo Bucks will take their high-octane attack into Colorado this weekend for a pair of games. On Friday, the Bucks meet the Northwest Division leading Rocky Mountain Rage (7-1-1) and on Saturday it's a President's Cup re-match with the Colorado Eagles (4-4-2). The Bucks are 11-1 on the season and undefeated on the road at 6-0.

THIS IS YOUR LOCKER

With the season four weeks old, teams are starting to "tinker" with the roster a bit and explore the trade market. Rio Grande Valley sent steady defenseman Mike Looby to the Tulsa Oilers in exchange for Lance Herauf on Wednesday. Looby was the top scoring Killer Bee defenseman with five points (2-3=5) and Herauf is one of the top rookies in the CHL from a year ago, 58 points (20-38=54) in 64 games.

ROAD TRIP IS ALMOST HISTORY

The CHL's best team, the Youngstown SteelHounds, need just two more point-earning performances to accomplish the un-thinkable. The Hounds, recently voted the #1 team in the CHL Coaches Poll, are 11-0-1 on their 14-game road trip that has kept them away from home for the entire season thus far. The Hounds play Mississippi on Friday night and Texas on Saturday before heading home for their home opener on Friday, November 23rd versus the Mudbugs. The SteelHounds will be without leading scorer Petr Pohl who was re-called by the AHL's Syracuse Crunch on Thursday.

TRANSACTION REPORT

The Rocky Mountain Rage signed veteran defenseman Matt Frick who in 307 career CHL games has 23 goals and 96 assists (with San Angelo, Corpus Christi and New Mexico)...Wichita has signed goaltender Layne Sedevie who was in Youngstown training camp at the start of the season and recently was 3-0 with the Indiana Ice Miners (MAHL)...Mississippi has suspended goaltender Larry Sterling and signed Adam Hanna (5-2-1 with the Mudbugs last season)...The SteelHounds have been assigned former sixth round NHL draft pick Kirill Starkov from the Columbus Blue Jackets (scored 71 points with Red Deer in the WHL last season)...Bossier-Shreveport's Darryl Lloyd has served his two-game CHL suspension and should be back in action Saturday night...Colorado goaltender Marco Emond has been activated off the IR and should be available for the Eagles tonight versus Oklahoma City.
