Raptors 905 (1-10), the NBA G League affiliate of the Toronto Raptors dropped the showcase season series against the Long Island Nets (6-4) 124-133 Thursday evening. The 905 were led by Jaysean Paige who contributed a season-high 36 points, six rebounds, and three assists. Jalen Wilson led the charge for the Nets with 18 points, 13 rebounds, and six assists in the victory.
The shorthanded 905 added three emergency players from the available player pool this morning, selecting Trey McGowens, Armon Fletcher, and Isaac Johnson. The Raptors 905 started the game strong, shooting 61.9% from the field and taking a 13-point lead going into the second quarter. The Nets found their rhythm early in the second, eventually allowing them to outscore the visitors 43-25 going into the half.
The Nets continued to build off their momentum as they opened the half on a 17-9 run. The 905 quickly responded closing out the third on a 24-14 run. Down three as they entered the final frame, the 905 mounted their comeback bid, but hot shooting from the Nets allowed them to secure the victory in Long Island.
Kevin Obanor paced the 905 with a season-high 25 points, 10 rebounds, and two steals. The Nets received complementary scoring from Noah Clowney who added 21 six rebounds, four assists, two steals, and three blocks.
The 905 continue their three-game road trip in Maine Sunday while the Nets head to Westchester to face the Knicks. Tip-off for both games slated for 1:00 pm.
