Raptors 905 (15-16), the NBA G League affiliate of the Toronto Raptors dropped the first of back-to-back games against the Greensboro Swarm (11-20) 118-116 Friday evening. Ron Harper Jr. led the way for the 905 with 29 points, nine rebounds, nine assists, and three steals. Greensboro saw a game-high 33 points from Kobi Simmons who added seven rebounds, seven assists, and a steal in the victory.

The Raptors 905 opened the ball game strong, leading 17-9 in the opening minutes. Coming out of the timeout, the Swarm found their rhythm bringing the game within two going into the second quarter. Harper Jr. put up 14 points in the first quarter, a career-high for the rookie. The Swarm built off their momentum in the second, outscoring the 905 27-23, and taking the two-point advantage going into the half.

The two teams opened the second half trading baskets back-and-forth, but the Swarm were able to hold onto their lead as they entered the final frame up 88-86. The two teams played an evenly matched fourth quarter but the 905 were unable to come away with the victory in Greensboro. All five starters for the 905 scored 15-or-more points for the first time in the 2022/23 season.

The 905 saw complementary scoring from Kylor Kelley who put up career highs in points, 20, rebounds, 11, and, assists, three. David Johnson and Gabe Brown contributed 22 and 20 points respectively. Trevon Scott added 24 points, 10 rebounds, and two assists for the Swarm.

The two teams complete their season series Saturday afternoon, tip-off slated for 3:30 pm.
