Hickory, N.C. - The Delmarva Shorebirds (46-53, 11-18) plated two runs in the ninth inning and used a season high 12 runs to defeat the Hickory Crawdads 12-10 at L.P. Frans Stadium on Saturday night. The Shorebirds end a season long six-game losing skid with the victory.
The Crawdads sprinted to an early 4-0 lead after the bottom of the first. Jake Skole was issued a one out walk and came around on a double down the right field line by Andrew Clark. Later in the inning, with two aboard, Josh Richmond hit a three-run homer over the left field wall to lift the Crawdads to a 4-0 lead.

The Shorebirds regained the lead in the third. Nowak recorded his second RBI single of the game to score Mooney, who led off the inning with a single.
The see-saw battle continued into the fourth when the Crawdads took an 8-7 lead on a two-run homer by Christian Villanueva.
The Shorebirds regained the lead with three runs in the seventh inning, but Hickory tied the game at 10-10 with two runs in the bottom of the seventh.
In the ninth, Mooney hit a single up the middle to open the inning. Webb then dropped a sacrifice bunt to advance Mooney to second. Ty Kelly followed with a single up the middle to score Mooney to give the Shorebirds an 11-10 lead. Later in the inning, Michael Ohlman hit a two-out single into right field to give the Shorebirds a 12-10 lead.
