Delmarva Shorebirds News Release
SALISBURY, Md. -- The Delmarva Shorebirds return to Arthur W. Perdue Stadium on Friday for a three-game weekend series against the Lakewood BlueClaws (Philadelphia Phillies affiliate). This series will mark the final meeting between the two teams in Maryland during the 2015 season.
All three games will feature a number of great promotions for fans to take advantage of including a Manny Machado 2011 South Atlantic League All-Star Bobblehead Giveaway, postgame fireworks and the team's annual Float for the Fund.
Friday, August 14 vs. Lakewood BlueClaws, 7:05 p.m.
The Shorebirds and BlueClaws will kick off the weekend with what promises to be one of the hottest giveaways in Birdland this summer. The first 1,000 fans through the gates will receive a Manny Machado 2011 SAL All-Star Bobblehead thanks to Nature's Twist.
The bobblehead features Machado sporting a North Division All-Star jersey from the 2011 SAL All-Star Game, which was hosted by the Shorebirds at Arthur W. Perdue Stadium. Fans are encouraged to arrive as early as possible to have their chance at getting one of these unique collectibles when gates open at 6 p.m.
That night's game will also be another Froggy 99.9 Big Beer Friday, where 32-ounce Coors Light and Miller Lite drafts will be available for just $6 each all night long.
Finally, the Shorebirds will be holding a drive for the Orioles Advocates Cardboard to Leather Program. Fans are encouraged to bring used baseball equipment to the ballpark that will be donated to needy children all over the world.
Saturday, August 15 vs. Lakewood BlueClaws, 7:05 p.m.
As with all Saturday home games during the 2015 season, the Shorebirds will light up the skies with a Q105 Postgame Fireworks Extravaganza after the game presented by Wawa.
Sunday, August 16 vs. Lakewood BlueClaws, 5:05 p.m.
The Shorebirds will continue to help those in need on The Peninsula by holding another Strike Out Hunger Sunday at Perdue Stadium. Fans who bring two non-perishable food items to the Arthur W. Perdue Stadium Box Office will receive a General Admission ticket for just $3.
Delmarva will also be hosting its annual Float for the Fund presented by Mug Root Beer and Georgeo's Water Ice. For just $5, fans will receive a souvenir Shorebirds mug that will be good for unlimited root beer floats during the game on the picnic deck. Proceeds will benefit the Shorebirds Community Fund.
Sunday's game will also mark another Summer Reading Program Night presented by College Savings Plan of Maryland. This program provides incentive for our youth to take part in our local libraries' summer reading programs.
Tickets for all remaining 2015 Shorebirds home dates are on sale now, and can be purchased at the Arthur W. Perdue Box Office, by phone at 410-219-3112 or online at theshorebirds.com.
