Frederick Keys News Release

The Keys may long for the good old times of Ernie Shore Field. On Wednesday night the Keys set a season-high with 15 hits but were still pasted by the Dash 13-7 in front of 3,072 fans at BB&T Ballpark in Winston-Salem, NC. The Keys are winless in five tries at the brand new BB&T Ballpark.

After falling behind 4-0 in the second inning the Keys couldn't bounce all the way back. With the bases loaded and two down in the third inning RF Jacob Julius beat out an infield hit as LF Kyle Hudson raced around third base and scored a second run to the dismay of the unassuming Dash. The Keys were within 4-2.

Trailing 5-2 in the sixth inning, the Keys loaded the bases with nobody out. After C Brian Ward grounded into a double play to bring home a run, CF Xavier Avery doubled home 3B Buck Britton and the Keys were within one run at 5-4.

The Dash came through in opportune times as 3B Jon Gilmore singled home two runs with two outs in the sixth inning to put Winston-Salem atop 7-4. Gilmore, who had the game winning hit on Tuesday, went 3-for-5 with three RBI's.

Of the season-high 15 hits, 14 were singles. Both Hudson and Julius registered three hit nights in the loss.

The Keys continue its road trip looking to salvage a game of its three-game series in Winston-Salem Thursday, June 17th at 7:00 p.m. RHP Oliver Drake will get the start for the Keys.

Frederick will return home for Peanut Free Night, Thursday June 24th after the all-star break at 7:00 p.m. as the Keys host Winston-Salem.
