Shock Make Splash in Free Agency Market

The Spokane Shock made a splash in the free agent market today adding eight players to the 2012 roster. These players include WR Aaron Fairooz, WR Delric Ellington, DE Marcus Broxie, QB Kyle Havens, OL Isaiah Agson, DB Jamal Robinson, LB Freddie Harris, and LB Terence Moore.
Fairooz, 6-6 220, spent the last two seasons in the CFL with the Saskatchewan Roughriders after originally signing with Spokane in 2010. Prior to his CFL experience, Fairooz was a late-season acquisition for the Arkansas Twisters of the af2. In just four games with the Twisters, Fairooz recorded 41 receptions with 20 touchdowns. During his collegiate career at Central Arkansas Fairooz collected 186 receptions for 2,797 yards (a school record) and 26 touchdowns in 47 games. Fairooz also tied the school record for most 100-yard receiving performances (9) and earned an invite to the 2008 NFL combine.
Ellington, 6-4 220, earned all-conference honors twice during his decorated collegiate career at Wingate University. In 33 games, Ellington recorded 165 receptions for 2,075 yards and 21 touchdowns.
After transferring from West Virginia, Broxie (6-4 265) completed his collegiate career at Tennessee State University. In 29 games, Broxie recorded 70 tackles - including 20.5 tackles for loss - with six sacks and five QB hurries.
Havens, 6-4 220, won starting QB position at the University of Massachusetts in his first season (2009). In two seasons at UMASS, Havens completed 60% of his passes (365/609) with 29 touchdowns.
Agson, 6-4 335, completed his 27 game collegiate career at the University of Houston in 2008. In his junior season, Agson was a key member of the Cougars offense which averaged more than 34 points and 500 yards of total offense per game.
Robinson, 5-10 185, was in camp with the Detroit Lions earlier this season. A first-team Conference USA honoree, Robinson collected 107 tackles with six interceptions during his time at the University of Houston.
Harris, 6-2 230, also gained NFL experience (in training camp with the St. Louis Rams in 2010) after a decorated collegiate career at the University Central Oklahoma. In just 31 games, he collected 135 tackles - including 24.5 tackle for loss - with 15.5 sacks.
Moore, 6-2 225, was in training camp with Spokane last season after completing his collegiate career at Troy. As a Trojan, Moore lined up as a strong safety where he played in 49 games and recorded 178 tackles with nine interceptions.
"Today was an important day for this franchise," Head Coach Andy Olson explained. "These players are the building blocks for the Championship roster we hope to field this season. All of them have a huge upside and I'm glad that they are a part of our team."
