
Shea Has Successful Knee Surgery

FRISCO, Texas (Friday, Dec. 18, 2009) -- FC Dallas midfielder Brek Shea had a small tear in the Meniscus of his right knee repaired yesterday.
Dr. Virgil Medlock of Orthopaedic Associates of Dallas performed the surgery. Shea is expected to be ready for the team's pre-season training in February.
Shea appeared in 19 games for FC Dallas during the 2009 season, making seven starts and tallying four assists. The second overall pick in the 2008 MLS SuperDraft, Shea has caps with the U.S. U-17, U-20 and U-23 teams. In 2008 he was called into three different age categories of the U.S. National Team (Senior, U-20, U-23). During the 2009 season, Shea joined four FC Dallas teammates on the U.S. U-20 Men's National Team for the FIFA U-20 World Cup in Egypt.
