
Shaw and Malone Earn All-USHL Team Honors

Shaw, who will begin his NCAA career at the University of North Dakota this fall, was obtained by Dubuque at the USHL Trade Deadline in early March. Shaw joined Dubuque from the rival Waterloo Black Hawks where despite battling injuries in the first half of the season, posted 29 points from the blue line in 32 games. The defenseman's impact with the Fighting Saints was immediate as the Woodbury, MN native scored 4 goals and added 9 assists for 13 points in 14 games for Dubuque. Despite only playing 46 games in the regular season, Shaw finished third among defenseman in scoring with 42 points. He was named the CCM Defenseman of the Week three times during the 2014-2015 season.
Shaw, the son of Dubuque Head Coach and General Manager Matt Shaw, was Dubuque's leading scorer in the postseason with 12 points in 8 games. In 99 career games with Waterloo and Dubuque, Shaw posted 71 points. He was a member of the 2013-2014 USHL All-Rookie Team.
Malone, who will begin his NCAA career at the University of Wisconsin this fall, posted career highs during the 2014-2015 season. The distinguished forward spent three seasons with the Fighting Saints and served as an alternate captain for the club this past year. During the 2014-2015 campaign, Malone scored 26 goals and added 32 assists for a team best 59 points. Malone posted the top plus/minus rating in the USHL with a +29 mark. He also added 4 goals and 6 assists for 10 points in 8 postseason games. He was one of three Fighting Saints to skate in front of the hometown crowd at the 2015 USHL/NHL Top Prospects Game in January.
Malone, a Naperville, IL native, finished his USHL career with 55 goals and 76 assists for 131 points in 163 regular season games with Dubuque. He was signed to a tender by the Fighting Saints in 2012 out of the prestigious Chicago Mission program. He helped lead the Fighting Saints to a club record 45-11-8 mark during the 2012-2013 season which saw Dubuque win the Anderson Cup as the league's top regular season team, and the Clark Cup as postseason champions. Malone also helped Dubuque to a bronze medal win at the 2013 Junior Club World Cup in Omsk, Russia.
Both Malone and Shaw also have represented their country on numerous occasions. The two were teammates on Team USA's gold medal winning squad at the 2014 Junior A Challenge in Kindersley, Saskatchewan.
