Camden Riversharks News Release

CAMDEN, NJ- The Riversharks were able to fend off the York Revolution for a second night in a row, taking the game 3-1. Camden was able to capitalize early with clutch hitting and a stellar performance from starter Kevin Walker, who was The Athlete's Foot/adidas Player of the Game.

The Sharks got on the board early in game, posting two runs in the second inning. Pena got on base with a single, which was followed up by a walk of Brad Strauss. Runners advanced after Craig Paquette flew out to right, scoring Pena. Milko Jaramillo was walked as well to get on first. Denny Abreu, who went 2-for-4 on the night, stepped up to bat and knocked in Brad Strauss with an RBI single. Camden would later score in the third, after Ben Davis hit a monster triple to deep center field. LJ Biernbaum would later reel in Davis with an RBI single of his own.

LHP Kevin Walker (3-1) pitched a gem of a game for Camden, going eight innings and allowing only one run on four hits, while striking out three and earning his third win. Chris Fussell picked up his league leading ninth save of the season. Walker allowed York to score only once in the fifth off an RBI from Willie Matos to drive in Rayner Bautista. Matt Hirsh (0-3) picked up the loss for York, allowing seven hits over six innings.

Join us tomorrow at Campbell's Field as the Riversharks (14-12) look for the sweep and wrap up their three game series with the York Revolution (10-14). LHP Anthony Ferrari (2-1) gets the start against the Revs. Tomorrow night is postgame fireworks and a player jersey auction in association with Jon Runyan Night to benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, presented by Foresters. The Sharks are on the road until June 15, when they return home to face the Long Island Ducks. To get your tickets, log onto www.riversharks.com or call 1-866-SHARKS-9.
