BOWIE, Md. - Bowie banged out 14 hits, including four home runs, in an 11-5 win over the Curve on Tuesday night at Prince George's Stadium.
Altoona fell behind early and couldn't rally as the Baysox hit home runs in each of their first three innings to build an early 7-0 lead. Carmen Mlodzinski was charged with the loss, lasting just one inning on Tuesday night. Joey Ortiz smacked a three-run homer in the first inning and the Baysox worked Mlodzinski for 43 pitches in the frame, however, he did pick up three strikeouts.
Aaron Shackelford led off the fourth inning with his team-leading 17th home run of the season off Baysox starter Ryan Watson. Altoona added two unearned runs off the Baysox bullpen in the seventh inning when Jared Triolo ripped a two-run double to left field.
Connor Scott picked up a three-hit day at the plate with a hustle double in the fifth, a single in the seventh and a two-run homer in the ninth inning. Scott's third homer of the season turned an 11-3 deficit into an 11-5 game.
Bowie managed at least one hit in every inning on Tuesday night. Righty Austin Roberts spun two scoreless innings in relief working around two hits and two walks while matching his season-high with five strikeouts across the sixth and seventh inning.
