New Hampshire Fisher Cats News Release
MANCHESTER, N.H. - The New Hampshire Fisher Cats, the Double-A affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays, the Fisher Cats Foundation, and the Ted Williams Foundation have confirmed the initial list of guests for the 2022 Granite State Baseball Dinner Experience.
The year's fundraising event will be held on Saturday, September 10, for the first time ever at Delta Dental Stadium in downtown Manchester. The dinner is an annual charitable event held since 2007 that benefits the Children's Hospital at Dartmouth-Hitchcock and the Fisher Cats Foundation. Fans will have the unique experience of being on the field and mingling with the celebrity guests during this event. Tickets go on sale this Friday at noon at NHFisherCats.com.
Hall of Famer Wade Boggs headlines this year's event, returning to the Granite State Baseball Dinner Experience for the first time since 2019. The 12-time All-Star spent a decade with the Boston Red Sox from 1982-1992, won a World Series with the New York Yankees in 1996, and became a member of the 3,000-hit club with the Tampa Bay Devil Rays. Boggs finished with a career .328 batting average and won five American League batting titles.
Boggs will be joined by Orlando Cabrera, who was acquired by the Red Sox in a trade from the Montreal Expos in July 2004 and helped capture the team's first World Series title since 1918. Cabrera was a two-time All-Star and played with nine different Major League teams.
Sue (Parsons) Zipay, a member of the Rockford Peaches, will also appear at this special event. She had an appearance in the 1992 movie "A League of Their Own", which was based on the Peaches and the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League.
Another star from a famous baseball movie "Field of Dreams" is set to make an appearance. Dwier Brown played John Kinsella, the father of Kevin Costner's character Ray in the film.
More information about ticket packages for the Granite State Baseball Dinner Experience is available online at NHFisherCats.com. Additional celebrity appearances will be announced soon.
The Fisher Cats return to Delta Dental Stadium for a 12-game homestand against the Richmond Flying Squirrels (Giants affiliate) and Erie SeaWolves (Tigers affiliate) next Tuesday, August 2, through Sunday, August 14. Tickets for all remaining home games are available at NHFisherCats.com, via email at info@nhfishercats.com, by phone at (603) 641-2005, or in-person at the Fisher Cats box office on 1 Line Drive in Manchester.
